CONCERT NEWS… Ken kicks off his 11th annual Sunday Gospel Martinee concert series at Hugh’s Room this Sunday, October 27th. Back by popular demand are Grammy & Juno Award winning vocalist Sharon Riley (Faith Chorale), David Wall (The Flying Bulgar Klezmer Group, Bourbon Tabernacle Choir) and and holding down the bottom end will be the incomparable bassist Dennis Pendrith (Murray McLaughlin, The Bebop Cowboys, Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Cafe Band). Making their debut appearance on the series are The Laws, an award winning grassy folk duo from Wheatley, Ontario. This is going to be a fabulous show. CONCERT NEWS… Celebrate Labor Day Weekend with Ken at the beautiful Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch at the foot of the Catskill Mountains in Woodbourne, NY. Ken offers “Opening our Voice, Opening our Heart” workshops at 12noon on both Saturday and Sunday (August 31 & Sept. 1). Ken will be heading back to the Prairie Day Festivalat the Alderville Black Oak Savanna Ecology Centre for a second year in a row (September 7). Bring your youngsters and oldsters. This is a fun day for all ages.

This week Ken is teaching “Playing the Blues: what makes it sound real? Intro to Slide Guitar and Fingerstyle Basics” at the Ashokan Guitar Camp in the Catskills, NY (July 28- August 1). Alsoteaching at the camp are Molly Mason, Mark Mazengarb, Matt Munisteri, Scott Nygaard and Andrew Vanoorstrand. FESTIVAL NEWS… THIS WEEKEND! Ken can’t wait to get back to the 40th anniversary London Home County Festival (July 20-21).The remarkable bassist George Koller and the beautiful songstress Tannis Slimmon and Jane Lewis will join Ken on the mainstage at 8:40pm on the Sunday. Ken also has workshops scheduled for 3pm on Saturday and 1:30pm Sunday. Home County festival is free admission.
TERRIFIC TUESDAYS are for the KIDS! The Cramahe Township Public Librarypresents Ken in concert at 2pm at the Victoria Park Square (July 23). Be sure to bring your children out to this one! Ken will be looking forvolunteers to join his band. Musical fun for all ages.
