It is a great place to go with daily yoga classes, sauna, great hiking trails and 2 delicious vegetarian meals a day.

I am delighted that my album “Long Time Travelling” has been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Traditional Album! On Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m. I will be performing in The Traditional Music Nominee Showcase Concert at Mel Lehan Hall, Vancouver.
On Sunday, March 19 at 2 p.m. along with soulful singers Ciceal Levy, David Wall and Pat Patrick, and bassist Gordon Mowat, I will take the stage at the Revival (College & Shaw) marking the 21st anniversary of Sunday Gospel Matinees at Hugh’s Room Live.
After hosting gospel workshops at folk festivals for decades, I was excited by the unique, dynamic chemistry when artists shared a stage together. Something very special happened. So in late March of 2002, as George Bush was saber rattling to start the Iraq war, the first Ken Whiteley Sunday Gospel Matinee was held. It quickly became a Hugh’s Room tradition until cut short in March 2020. During that span of 18 years over a hundred different singers and musicians participated, representing an incredible range of musical styles and spiritual perspectives. I created the initial series to record an album that would become “Gospel Music Makes Me Feel Alright!”. Among the participants on that album are the singers joining me for the March 19 concert.
