Ken played here a few years ago and it is a lovely sounding space. There will be lots of blues, gospel and original songs, and lots of chances to sing along with Ken and his great, dynamic band. Performing with Ken will be Ciceal Levy (vocals, percussion), Gord Mowat (string bass) and Bucky Berger (drums, vocals). Doors open at 7pm. Curtain at 7:30pm.
A fun afternoon with lots of ways to enjoy the gardens and Wilket Creek Ravine, artist displays and a circus school. Ken’s concert will be nature and family friendly, and like all Ken Whiteley shows will have lots of chances for everyone to sing along. Festival runs from 12 noon to 4pm. Ken’s concert runs from 1pm to 2pm. Admission is free.

The Detweiler Meetinghouse is located at the south end of Kitchener (just north of Ayr). It is an historic building from 1855, first built as a Mennonite meetinghouse. It is the oldest stone meetinghouse in the province and Ivan Emke, who coordinates a summer concert series there says it is a great, singing audience. It is admission by donation. Tax receipts can be given for amounts of $20 and over.
This is always a wonderful time in the beautiful Laurentian mountains, just over an hour north of Montreal. The 5th annual “The Gifts of Light” Concert with featured singers Ken Whiteley, Kim Doolittle and Julie Michaels, with musical director Jason Jestadt, the choirs from Canadian Children’s Opera Company and the Robbins Hebrew Academy Choir.
