African Nova Scotia Gospel matinee……

Gospel concerts… Ken Whiteley’s popular Sunday afternoon gospel music series at Hugh’s Room will celebrate it’s 12th seasonwith an amazing selection of both local and international gospel artists. This season kicks off on Sunday, October 26th with a special Nova Scotia Gospel Celebration, featuring Linda Carvery, soloist with the Nova Scotia Mass Choir and fellow Nova Scotians Jeremiah Sparks (“Mufasa” from the Toronto production of The Lion King and former church organist and choir director of the Nova Scotia Mass Choir) and Jivaro Smith(“Simba” from The Lion King and pastor and director of the mass choir at Grant African Methodist Episcopal Church in Toronto) with Ben Whiteley holding down the bottom end with his big double bass. Worldwide Internet/Radio news… Drew Marshall hosts Canada’s most listened to spiritual talk show and for the past 5 years Ken has been making the trek out to his Oakville radio studio to be a guest on his show. Ken was on the October 11th showwhich is now available as a podcast to download. You may listen to the show live every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Drew Marshall Show. The musical guests are featured from 4 p.m. Linda Carvery and Jeremiah Sparks will be the guest artists on Saturday, October 25.

Washington & Voorheesville concerts…..

USA concerts… THIS WEEKEND! Ken travels stateside to join Kim and Reggie Harris for concerts on Friday, October 17 back at Carroll Cafe in Washington, DC. and Saturday, October 18 at Old Songs in Voorheesville, NY.

Canadian concerts… Sadly the 1st gospel brunch at the 4 Points Sheraton in Thorold has been cancelled. However, there’s still lots of great music happening at the 13th Annual Canal Bank Shuffle Blues Festival on October 17 & 18.

Worldwide Internet/Radio news… Drew Marshall hosts Canada’s most listened to spiritual talk show and for the past 5 years Ken has been making the trek out to his Oakville radio studio to be a guest on his show. This year Ken will be joining Drew on Saturday, October 11th so be sure to tune in. He always hasa great time singing and chatting with Drew. Jesse Palidofsky’s CD Launch…

TONIGHT! Ken travels stateside for Jesse Palidofsky‘s CD release concert on Friday, September 12 at 8 p.m. at Carroll Cafe in Washington, DC. Jesse came up to Toronto to record and have Ken produce this fabulous new collection of songs entitled Dancing Toward The Light. Ken will also join Kim and Reggie Harris for concerts on October 17 back at Carroll Cafe and then on October 18 at Old Songs in Voorheesville, NY.

New band! New music! New signing!… Ken Whiteley and the Beulah Band (Frank Evans, Rosalyn Dennett and co-producer Ben Whiteley) are creating and recording exciting new music that is deeply rooted in traditional North American folk forms. You’ll hear echoes of blues, gospel, swing, string and jug band sounds. They can’t wait to take their show on the road and they’re very excited to have joined the roster at AIM Artists in Motion Booking Agency.
