Bluesy Gospel this afternoon…

THIS AFTERNOON! Putting together very special combinations of people is one of the things I love most about programming my Sunday Gospel matinee concert seriesat Hugh’s Room, Toronto. Sunday, January 31 at 2 p.m. we have two couples each with their own unique history, but both deeply steeped in the old blues, spirituals and gospel music. Rev. Robert Jones and Sister Bernicehave never met Chris Whiteley and Diana Braithwaite, but I know the combination will be fantastic. John Mays was the first person Chris andDiana mentioned when I asked who they’d like to share this stage with. Isay let’s bring them all together and let me in on this fun!

On Sunday, Feb. 28th I welcome harmonica virtuoso Mike Stevens, award winning D. C. singer/songwriter Jesse Palidofsky, outstanding African Canadian singer Colina Phillips, and world renowned string bassist George Koller.
