Carols by Candlelight…

The annual Carols by Candlelight Service onChristmas Eve with Ken Whiteley, vocalists Amoy Levy & David Wall, bassist Terry Wilkins and the Gospel Choir led by Joanna Mills at the Roncesvalles United Church (214 Wright Avenue @ Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto) on December 24 is a beautiful family oriented service. The Light of Christmas CD…Nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in the category of Traditional Singer of the Year, this recording features a marvelous collection of new Ken Whiteley Christmas originals that range from the exciting ska sounds of “The BabyLeapt In The Womb” to the heart-tugging “I Can’t Imagine Christmas Without You”. It’s a vocal rich recording that in addition to Ken’s soul stirring performances includes singers David Wall, The Fabulous Levy Sisters (Amoy & Ciceal), Hayley Gene Penner and niece Jenny Whiteley. In fact the album is brimming with fellow Whiteleys including brother Chris, son Ben, nephews Dan and Jesse, and a cover painting by Ken’s father, Ronald Whiteley. Only available from Ken’s Store.

Aurora Blues Concert… Ken Whiteley & The Freedom Blues Band (8 piece with horn section) will be performing for one night only at the Aurora Cultural Centre. Tickets for the Thursday, February 15 show are now on sale from the Centre or call call 905 713-1818.
