CONCERTS & WORKSHOPS… Next up I’m off to Alberta where I’ll be performing for the Demmitt Cultural Society on March 23rd and then for the Northern Lights Folk Club in Edmonton on March 24th. I’m also holding my One Day Wonder Gospel Singing Workshop and Concert in Calgary on March 25th. This is a fabulous opportunity for you to sing with me. Amaze yourself, your family and friends too! STUDIO NEWS… This past month Len Udow (who was a guest on my Feb. 26th gospel show at Hugh’s Room; pictured on the far left) and Kim & Reggie Harris(pictured on the left) have been recording with engineer Nik Tjelios and me at Casa Wroxton Studio. The recording sessions for Kim & Reggie’s Ressurection Day CD resumes after months of delay due toflooding and damages caused by hurricanes Irene and Lee at their home. MARCH BREAK CONCERTS… During March break I’ll be performing my Mariposa in the School approved children’sshows at libraries across Toronto so grab your children or grandchildren for an afternoon of musical fun starting at 2pm. Tuesday afternoon I’ll be at Runnymede Library, Wednesday at Victoria Village Library and Thursday at L.H. Smith Library. Go to Mariposa in the Schools or Facebook to find out more information.

GOSPEL NEWS…Thanks to everyone who made my return to the Sunday Gospel series at Hugh’s Room such a delightfulsuccess and a Sold Out! one too. My heartfelt thanks go out to Chris Whiteley, Diana Braithwaite, Jacob Moon, Joe Sealy and Paul Novotny for sharing the stage with me that afternoon. My next Gospel Matinee is this Sunday! Joining me that afternoon will be one of the finest African Canadian Gospel singers Marlene O’Neill, Canadian Gospel Pioneer Joan (Harris) Elliott, Winnipeg songwriter/tenor Len Udow and National Jazz Award’s Bassist of the Year George Koller. TORONTO AREA SHOWS… THIS WEEK! February 3rd & 4th I’m performing at Masques of Love, which will be a night of revelry celebrating Cupid and featuring a wide array of poetry and love songs, from Renaissance madrigals and lute songs to 20th-century torch songs. Also performing will be Vicki St. Pierre, who appeared on my gospel series a few years back.

TORONTO AREA EVENTS… Tonight! Monday, January 16th I’m off to the 15th Annual Maple Blues Awards. I have been nominated for the Blues With A Feeling Award,which my brother Chris graciously accepted last year. Then later in the week from January 19th to 22nd I’ll be singing a couple of Gordon’s gems at the 10th anniversary of Gordon Lightfoot celebration at Hugh’s Room. This Sunday! Jan. 15th I’ll joining Rev. Wayne Walder and the congregation for their annual spoken and musical tribute to Martin Luther King. Come one come all to one of the city’s most spirited seasonal celebrations ~ Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve in Roncy Village with my dear friends Amoy Levy, David Wall, Ben Whiteley and the church’s gospel choir led by Joanna Mills. The past 4 years have been standing room only so be sure to arrive early if you wish a seat.
