2012 concerts… This coming March I’m heading west to beautiful Alberta. I’ll be performing for the Demmitt Cultural Society on March 23rd and then for the Northern Lights Folk Club in Edmonton on March 24th. I’m also planning a singing workshop and evening concert in Calgary on March 25th. For more gig details, click on Shows.

This weekend I’m off to the Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival (Friday, Sept. 9) followed by the Jazz Sudbury Festival (Sunday, Sept. 11).

Joining me on the Sudbury stage will be the fabulous Levy Sisters (Ciceal & Amoy pictured with me here), bass vocalist Pat Patrick, bassist George Koller, drummer Brad Hart and my nephew Jesse Whiteley on keys. We’ll also be welcoming Sudburian, Reverand Jeremy Mahood up on stage for a few songs.Hope to see you out there and be sure to say hi after the show. This will also be your chance to pickup Amoy’s new solo recording.

In my studio… Over the coming year I’ll be working on a new project for Reggie Harris. Some of you may remember Reggie and his wife Kim (pictured at right) from my gospel series at Hugh’s Room last year. Also Kathy Reid-Naiman will be starting a brand new exciting CD for young children, which I know your wee ones will love.

This weekend I’m offering a couple of Blues In The Schools concerts at the Kitchener Blues Festival (August 6 & 7) so be sure to bring the kids out for those shows. The shows are 3pm to 3:45pm at The Children’s Museum on both days. I’m also taking part in a resonator guitar / slide workshop with Alfie Smith & James O’Brien at McCabe’s Irish Pub on Sunday from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.

Then I’m headed off to the Summerfolk Music & Crafts Festival (August 19-21) followed by Eaglewood Folk Music Festival (August 26-28), Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival (Sept. 9), Jazz Sudbury Festival (Sept. 11). The Maritimes & Alberta tours… This coming October 2011 I’ll be performing songs from my new CD Another Day’s Journey across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with my closing tour date on October 22nd at the Pearl Theatre in Lunenburg. I still have a couple of available open days in this tour so if you’re interested in booking me for a school show, church workshop or hosting a house concert, please contact my assistant Shari Campbell at shari@kenwhiteley.com On March 24th, 2012 I’m playing for the Northern Lights Folk Club in Edmonton and would love to add some shows in northern Alberta at that time too.
